Lankan Kharahasara Mod
Version v1.5

This is a mod that adds a new, recruit-anywhere sacred to Lanka: the
kharahasara, a rabbit rakshasa. It also adds a unique magic site that allows
recruitment of the little guys by any nation that finds it.

I made this on request from my 5-year-old son, who wanted for "bunny
warriors." It's a rather gratuitous little mod (Lanka is quite strong already
in both power and flavor), but I have tried to give it a sufficiently serious
treatment, making it balanced and worthwhile (whether or not I have succeeded,
and how it could be improved, I heartily welcome feedback on).

Apparently, Hindu mythology provides that Rakshasa can be of just about any
animal type, so this is not totally inconsistent with the mythology.

The original name was the more tongue-in-cheek 'Bunisara,' but I came by the
current name by looking up "rabbit" in a free online English-Hindi PDF
dictionary. (If you are familiar with Hindi and know a better way to go about
naming it, please do let me know. I know absolutely nothing about Hindi.)

Despite the somewhat flippant way they came about, I have actually become
somewhat fond of the little guys, and am quite pleased with them. The base
variant uses a large version of the Kukri knife, but it can be altered to
spear and pole-arm variants by choosing which lines are commented out in the
.dm. file.

I hope you enjoy your BLOODTHIRSTY DEMON RABBIT WARRIORS. And lookathat
floppy ear! So cute.

NOTES FOR USE

[*] The Kharaharaja, the dual-kukri-wielding commanderized version of the
Kharahasara, is now enabled for Lanka by default. If you would prefer to
have only the troop versions, disable it as a recruitable unit in the
Lanka nation section of the .dm file (at the bottom of it).

[*] If you would prefer the sword-and-shield variant of the Kharaharaja,
switch which lines are commented out in the Kharaharaja's unit entry of
    the .dm file.

[*] The Kharahasara Tribe unique magic site (which is now enabled by default)
allows recruitment of both the spear and kukri versions of the
Kharahasara, as well as the commanderized version. Again, if you would
prefer one or another unit not be recruitable there, comment out the
appropriate lines in the site's entry.

[*] It may be easier and more compact to just incorporate the small text of
this in your house mod compilation, rather than run it as a specific mod
of its own. (I personally just stick all littler changes in a custom-
named version of the CBM mod file.)

[*] This mod uses magic site ID 820, weapon ID 881, and unit IDs 3930-3932.
Please let me know if these are not good ID numbers to use (for whatever
reason, such as conflict with another major mod).

[*] If you're not familiar with Dom3 modding and all that, if you're getting
nagot gick fel when trying to use this, it's likely a conflict; try
changing either the weapon or monster number to something safe. (See the
Dom3 DB for which ones are used by the vanilla game, and check which ones
    your other mods use.)

SOURCE IMAGES

As a basis from which to work, I used a mixture of a vanilla Dom3 Pangaean
satyr warrior, with the naked satyr's tail and the Palankasha's head. Except
for the kukri blade, weapons were ripped from this or that vanilla sprite.

CREDITS:

[*] Kristoffer O, as always, for the vanilla spritework used as the basis.
[*] My five-year-old son for demanding bunny warriors.

PERMISSIONS

This work is released openly to the public domain. Do with it as you please,
with or without credit -- alter it, incorporate it, consider it a
contribution, what have you. Courtesies are always nice, but I'm easy. The
world needs more Bloodthirsty Demon Rabbit Warriors.

VERSION HISTORY

v1.5 -- Added dual-kukri-wielding Kharaharaja (GL_Kharahasara_Black_B1 and 2)
sprite to the mod archive, and made it the default. Adjusted sword-
and-shield Kharaharaja sprite a bit. Kharahasara Tribe site and
Kharaharaja commander now enabled by default. Kharaharaja now has
slightly lower chance of blood magic (50% -> 40%).

v1.4 -- Cleaned up mod file and moved usage notes and other information to
a separate readme file. Added mod commands to add the units to
Lanka (which I had neglected to do) and to optionally add a new
        magic site.
v1.3 -- First public release version. Changed Kharaharaja description and
stats. Changed magic skill from a flat Blood 1 to a 50% chance of
        Blood 1.
